Two rival substitute teachers engage in a brutal game of one-upmanship as they compete for a full-time job at an elite elementary school. Life isn’t easy for any teacher, never mind a substitute teacher — especially one that’s trying to climb the ranks of a prep school for young kids. After all, a job like this could be the beginning of a successful and secure career. Chase (Venk Potula) and Becky (Dana Joeli) are two competitive substitute teachers, on-call at a moment’s notice for any of the staff who fall ill, go on vacation, or take leave. The trouble starts when a rare, full-time teaching job opens up, and Chase and Becky go head-to-head for the gig. As polar opposites, Becky is spectacularly type A, making big plans and forcing fun on the students. As you might guess, Chase is a slacker who simply takes the kids out for ice cream. Does it work? Yes. At the end of her rope, Becky tries to slash more than grades in the battle for chaperoning the Natural History Museum field trip.
