Nothingman

Colman Domingo stars as OTIS TREMMEL, a homeless man with a complicated past, now relegated to living on Skid Row. Otis fills his days drinking whiskey and reminiscing about his past. He is a community-oriented and selfless man who prioritizes others who need help more than he. Otis takes on the role of private investigator for the local homeless community.

When a junkie (STERNWOOD), loses his dog (SPRINKLES) and needs help finding him, Otis is his first stop for help. Otis, despite never being trained as an investigator, is actually quite skilled. He follows a series of clues, all the way across town to Silicon Beach, where he locates the dog and the thief. The thief is no other than THEO FUENTE (Jordan Pratt-Thatcher), the son of MACLEMORE FUENTE (Richard Burgi), a venture capitalist who owns Social Rex, an expensive marketing agency. Theo knows Sternwood because they do drugs together downtown, and stole Sprinkles because Sternwood was squatting in his father’s soon to be new office space.

Theo gives the dog to his niece to give the dog a better life. Otis can’t argue with this and returns to Skid Row telling Sternwood the dog was hit by a car and died. Sternwood is found murdered a week later, proving to Otis he made the right and best decision for the dog’s livelihood. Otis loses himself in a bottle of whiskey waiting for the next case.
