Hermit

Hermit hasn’t left her apartment in six months. But she’s fine. She works from home, works out at home, meditates at home and she has a therapist so you know, she’s totally fine. Hermit loves technology, especially since it allows her to get all her meals and groceries delivered right to her front door. Well, she has to meet them on the sidewalk, which is totally okay with her, not a challenge at all and she certainly doesn’t get dressed up so the delivery person doesn’t see her in sweats she’s worn for three days straight. She actually enjoys getting deliveries as they remind her when she needs to change clothes. Hermit’s New Agey neighbor may be annoying with her incessant pleas for starting a chanting circle but the neighbor’s astute observations on Hermit’s “fear-based” life is what really annoys her, because she’s completely fine! She even has a boy–well, there’s this guy she has long, emotionally intimate phone conversations with, who she used to hook up with but doesn’t anymore; they just talk now. It’s totally normal, healthy and absolutely fine.

Most days she spends alone not interacting with anyone. Some days are depressive as she barely leaves her bed, doesn’t change her clothes and wastes the day away doing nothing. Other days she relishes her alone time using it for self-care, spiritual connection and soulful playtime. That’s normal though: most people spend their days that way…she’s completely and totally fine! Hermit is healing from a traumatic incident that occurred six months ago. She doesn’t like to mention it. She just continues to live her life getting by each hour of each day, barely surviving. Everyone does that though so she’s totally, completely, one hundred percent, absolutely FINE!
